Ah, Slovenia — quietly the most beautiful country in Europe? These vineyards are 5km from the Adriatic Sea, up in the hills 250-350 meters above sea level. They are facing south, about 3km from the Croatian border and 20km from the Italian border.
This is a dry skin-contact white wine. It is quite pretty with its floral and fruit aromatics, but also has a bit of tannin and oxidative qualities from the skin contact. It’s lovely to drink on its own after a bit of time in the fridge, but also will pair well with any number of pastas, poultry, fish and vegetables.
